About Shepherd’s Driver Consulting
How much do you charge?
The Basic Driver Training Program is $550.00 for beginners or first-time drivers.
The Accelerated Driver Training Program is $325.00 for more experienced and confident drivers.
Is the payment made in full on the first day of training?
Yes. There are no split payments or individual payments.
Acceptable in either cash or checks written to Shepherd’s Driver Consulting.
Do I have to come to your location?
We can usually pick students up from home for students living within an 18 mile radius of the central Pennsylvania area.
Students outside of our area can meet at an approved designated safe location, and receive training from there.
Do I take the test with my instructor or at Penndot?
Students will need to make arrangements to take the test at PennDOT with a qualified examiner. However, they can use the driving school car that they use in training to take their scheduled exam.
We are investigating adding third-party testing with our instructors in the future.
Will I have different driving instructor for each lesson?
No, students will stay with the same person throughout training.
How long does it usually take to complete training?
Typically, it takes anywhere from 6-8 weeks to complete training.
It can be completed in less time if the student has a flexible schedule during our working hours.
How do I schedule appointments?
By calling 717-503-9344 to discuss your location and availability during business hours.
If I'm not successful on my first license exam attempt, do I need additional training hours?
Not necessarily. It depends on the mistakes made while taking the test for licensing.
Students can reschedule for another test appointment and go back again.
However, there is a retest fee of $60 to reserve the vehicle and make time for the appointment.
